Chromecast BT Sport to LG OLED TV no longer possible. Can’t download android app

I have successfully casted the BT Sport App via Chromecast for over a year now. But today it no longer works. I got a message saying that Chromecast is no longer supported but not to worry as I can download Android app from PlY store. The big flaw in this is that LG TVs do not run Android. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

is this BT trying to force their own tv on their customers?

Restart the app on your phone @grahamelrick and then try again. It'll work this time.

There's a bug on Google Chromecast devices that is causing that message to appear to incorrect devices. We've switched off the upgrade whilst we investigate.
