Cannot play recordings ipc6041

I have recorded several programmes from sky atlantic and now wish to watch them. When i scroll through my recordings I can see them, but they will not play. I get a screen which says: recording unavailable. check connection between box and router, then restart router. IPC 6041. Tried everything, but still the same. Any ideas. thanks

I believe that message may appear if there is a subscription issue.

Do you still have a current BT TV subscription that includes the NOW Entertainment membership ?

Are you able to view the Sky Atlantic live channel on your BT TV box ?

thanks for the reply. I have a current BT TV subscription and can watch live sky atlantic on my TV with no problems.

Hi @daverail,

Thank you for posting. I'm sorry if you're having problems watching your recordings. If you try and record that channel now are you able to playback that recording okay?

If you haven't already tried please can you try restarting your BT TV Box? Once your BT TV box has finished restarting, try to play the recording you had problems with.

Just tried to instant record on sky atlantic for a few minutes. Then tried to recall the programme.

It plays just fine.

Hi Paddy, forgot to reply to you about the restart of the box. I have just tried that and it’s same error IPC6041.

Also is the entertainment as part of the package or as an add on pass. I've had the same issue on sport channels recently yet entertainment has been fine. I bought a monthly sports pass as an add on & not part of the package so think that may be the cause

i have the normal package from the off, i have not purchased add on packages.

Hi, @daverail I'm sorry that didn't help. I've seen this issue before and it was resolved by doing a factory reset on the box. Make sure to try the option that keeps your recordings first. Post back and let me know how you get on.

i have done the reset to keep the recordings and now when i select the programmes from the recordings screen i get “the recording of landscapers is unavailable”.

Hi Neil,

just tried: changed channel to 342. Pressed red R on remote and program records. Pressed the house and go to recordings and watch list. Found the currently recorded programme and it plays fine. It kept asking for parental control which i entered. Could this be part of the problem?

@daverail Thanks for doing that for me, that sounds like you've sorted the ipc6041 issue by doing the reset, unfortunately, it won't fix the programs that won't play but you still might get these by going into the Now app.

The parental control pin is required to watch certain programs pre-watershed and it shouldn't cause any issues.
