porting 2nd line number

i have BT broadband on line 1 and have a second line 2.

Im moving BB to Virgin and been told i can port either number. i want to port line 2 number and close line 1 which currently has BT BB on it.

is this correct? if Virgin notify BT of transfer will BT want to port line 1 number?

note i am out of contract by many months.

That is something you will have to ask Virgin. Transfers are down to the gaining provider, who informs the existing one. BT will attempt to do whatever Virgin request.

Don`t be surprised if it all goes wrong.

Hi Keith thanks for promt reply.
Bt now said i can port any number so virgin can ask for second line number. i am however half expecting to go t!ts up.
so wondering if i can port line 1 No now then at later date Port line2 number? does that sound feasible?

Sorry, I have no idea, all you can do is to hope for the best. Porting between Virgin and BT Retail, seems to cause issues, based on other posts on this forum. The two networks are totally different.
