Can you use WhatsApp on that model?

Not an ideal solution I know but it's the best I can think of. Your contacts would need to be on WhatsApp as well

No mobile signal in home - booster required

My home and most of those around it have no mobile signal, presumably due to the design of the estate and placement of the nearest mast. Because of this, despite BT thinking our postcode is in a good coverage area, we actually have none. This makes it very difficult to get help since I can't even call BT to rectify the problem since my phone can't do wifi calling.

I've heard about signal boosters that can provide coverage when connected to a router - what's the best way to get one of these? Would it have to be a BT router?

BT no longer support the boosters you refer to.

Do you not have a Wi-Fi calling capable mobile phone?

Yeah I have plenty of options for contacting people I know, it's more an issue when the dentist wants to call me or, worst of all, when I need to receive a confirmation text to login to something

A couple of other imperfect solutions possibly.

Complain to BT about poor reception

Ask neighbours about their mobile signal and change providers

.... and probably the least practical of all

get a bluetooth device to carry around in the house and leave the phone in an upstairs room for better reception
