Family plan SIM for data only eg. IPAD

Hi, did not find a clear answer on the community.

Does anyone know if when ordering multiple family sims (currently £7 for an extra SIM for 12GB) that one of those can be simply used as a data only sim in say an iPad (currently Sep21 BT also sell a data only sim £10 for 10GB) ?

Hello,

You can order a SIM with voice and and SMS on the tariff and use it however you please as long as you're not 'endangering the network'

Mobile networks are not allowed to restrict which device you use your SIM card in and haven't been for some time.

Still amuses me that their data only SIM cards are more expensive than those with voice and SMS bundled.

I don't have family sims but have had 3 standard BT Sims for several years now. One of those has been in an iPad permanently so only used for data without any problems. Hope this helps you.
