On my latest bill I’ve been charged for two out of plan messages to a number. Someone had asked me to text a third person’s number to them. Apparently it’s a text to Mail conversion service provided by EE. I didn’t request this and in a chat BT assured me it won’t happen again.

Elsewhere I read that I need to remove the option to send messages by email (as well as text) - presumably when there’s no mobile phone signal present. Unfortunately the instructions given appear to be out-of-date.

My iphone has iOS 14.7.1 so it’s likely the set menu has changed since the instructions were posted on the bt forum a few years ago. Does anyone know how to stop messages being sent as emails? Thanks
