Ghost emails

I am the main account holder and my wife has her own BT email address

For years we have had no trouble but in the past week my wife has emails she can't access.

Her inbox will say for instance she has 5 emails and unread 3 emails.

However, she can only see 2 emails leaving 3 unread ones 'somewhere' where she can't open them.

It is the same on the PC, her phone and her ipad.

We have tried changing her view setting to right, to left, to none etc but there are always 3 emails unreadable.

I have sent her test emails and they seem to 'nudge' previous ones out so we can read them, one in one out, but that is no long term solution.

Any ideas please?
