Public Wifi on router switched off

Hi All

I was just checking out the new firmware for the SH2

On looking at settings found that the public wifi switched off

Hav never touched that setting at anytime

So tried to opt in found the link agree to terms and click on setup

3 coloured balls bouncing up and down for about 20 to 30 sec then it returns to same page

Wifi still switched of ...have tried on desktop and a android tablet all the same

Contacted BT in newcastle thay had no idea how to switch it on

so it webpage does not allow who can switch it on .

Never tried this myself but I think there might be quite a delay between opting-in/out and the HomeHub reflecting the change.

Trouble is the page does not work

It was easy on the old webpage when it was called btfon ...

Have you actually checked to see if BT wifi is on or off rather than just relying on what the hub manager says?

If you had read my notes i cannot access the page as it keeps taking me back to start.

have tried via android apps via webpage still no access

Did you look at available networks on your mobile phone to see if it shows BTWIFI from your hub as available

Sigh, had you read my post I was asking if you could actually see the wifi signal, not the web page or the hub manager.

Have noticed on account i do not have manage wifi but learn

So it looks like when bt upgraded me to Halo 3 they stopped the manage option for the wifi

again Bt have taken the Public Wifi away from me

And no I cannot see any of the old openzone or Xwifi options .

So that will explain why the webpage and apps will not allow me to opt IN .

Strange part BT checked the account said nothing wrong with it

No idea what's going on with managing BTwifi, the managing the option in MyBT just takes you round in circles and doesn't actually do anything and via the BTwifi public pages doesn't help either, clicking the link for more information for BT Broadband customers just takes you to a promotional page for BT Broadband!!!

Typical useless BT web pages.

I've honestly been trying on and off for 3 days now with the same problem - the BT pages take you round and round and round and the hub manager doesn't allow you to change anything any more, it takes you to another webpage which is of zero use. Urgh...

The hub manager has never allowed you switch public WiFi on and off, it is a network function as disabling it for your account also disables your access to any hotspots whilst out and about and doesn't just turn it off on your hub.

Hmm. Could've sworn I'd used it in order to 'opt out' originally (yet now can't to opt back in) - but I'm new to using BT products so bow to your superior knowledge!
