I found a partial solution to this issue on Norton's site - there is a programme called RemoveNortonMacFiles.command which will carry out a cleanup of all Norton's files. I did this, rebooted and re-installed successfully - test scan of the iMac worked fine and the on line Device Security shows the system is protected. However at this time the pattern file update does not work.

The BT AV software on my iMAC running Monterey v12.6 has stopped working with failure to update messages. I have re-booted, no change, uninstalled, re-booted and re-installed. The installation completed successfully (according to the install programme), but when I re-started the system and tried to open Norton console, it displayed a message - 'pending' and nothing else happened. Please advise.
