Simple. Just uninstall it and use either the built in Windows Defender or another free AV.

I have Norton virus protection installed on my laptop as part of the BT package. This has now started to have very regular annoying pop ups stating threats resolved.

I have tried to find a way to stop this online and the option I can find is to use the administrative settings and disable some of the options. As in this article https://community.norton.com/en/forums/how-stop-threats-resolved-pop-messages

My main issue is that I do not appear to have administrative settings in the BT version of Norton.

Can somebody please suggest how to stop these pop ups or how to access administrative settings.

Thanks for any help

In Norton Classic view click on settings and then administrative settings.
