BT Parental Controls Not Blocking Websites

Hi there,

I have recently signed up to BT Broadband and trying to set up the parental controls adding a few websites to be blocked but nothing works. I been browsing the forum and see similar people with the same issue but it looks like it is resolved in the backend. In one thread where its been resolved, a BT engineer by the name of DarrenW resolve the issue.

Please can someone help me.

Hi @mitchfamily, welcome to BT and thanks for posting. I'm sorry that the Parental Controls aren't working.

The first thing to check is that you're using BT's DNS settings: How to check your DNS settings | BT Help

If not they need to be switched on.

Let us know if that resolves the issue or you need further help.

Many thanks for reaching out to me. I have checked DNS already and I can confirm it is set to obtain IP address automatically. I've rang support and they advised to check DNS. They were meant to call me back but haven't heard anything. I have children at my home and they are opened to everything on the internet. I've also tried across multiple devices and still the same issue.
