I am a BT Basic customer and for many years i've had access to BT wi fi, now known as EE wi fi. As it says on the log in screen, 'All BT Broadband customers get free unlimited access to EE wi fi '. Since issues with my account login ( passcode being sent to a long dead email address ), with BT's help after many weeks and a raised complaint, i've managed to make a new BT ID that has accepted my account number. Since then, despite being in a wi fi hotspot, i cannot successfully login to wi fi. I can enter all my details, as before and it comes up in small red writing, ' Check that you are registered to use this service. ' I've tried using the 'chat help' function and many hours are spent in a frustrating loop that gets no where. Have also tried phoning but as a older person i get confused by technical jargon. I was told that i've been out of contract for many years and only pay a monthly fee for BT Basic that does not entitle me to free wi fi. My previous access to wi fi was an error i was not entitled to. To save another long confusing pone call to BT help, has anyone else had this issue, who is right in this situation ? Many thanks.
