My fibre to the cabinet broadband (Halo) drops out for a few seconds at around 1700to 1730 on several days a month, completely at random. It does the same thing less frequently at other times of day. The hub resets and restores connectivity but it causes streaming devices to cut out.

Any ideas what causes this?

Search REIN and SHINE ( include broadband in your search ) basically electrical interference can cause ADSL/VDSL (FTTC) to drop sync , there was a famous case here illustrating that doesn’t need to be within your home

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-54239180

If you still have a landline phone (not digital voice} then try dialling 17070 option 2. Should be silent no interference
