Other providers networks are not appropriate to be discussed here , and if FTTP from Openreach isn’t available then it’s irrelevant what price it can be had for , but I don’t follow your logic if you switch you’d get half the speed , that makes no sense, whatever speed you get from FTTC now is available from other ISP’s , it’s the same Openreach equipment .
It’s not true that if FTTP becomes available you can’t take it mid contract, I’m in that position, approximately 10 months after agreeing to a 24 month contract on FTTC , FTTP is available and I’ve had invites to upgrade, no penalty ( but a new 24 month contract )

Bonded copper Contract ends October , full fiobre "building" next year according to Openreach

I have the top package HALO 3 extra or whatever its called. with phone (£12) the total a month is £104 !!

Ive called a few times to see what can be done and nothing so far. Openreach says next year for building Full Fibre in my area. I cant switch as ill get half the speed. My haggling so far has got it down to £89. Unless i try again nearer my contract end. I also asked if full fibre came mid-contract, would i get it cheaper and ofc the answer was no.

NEW sign-up deals of https://www.broadbandchoices.co.uk/providers/bt/broadband-phone BT 900 is £31.99 !! but of course, only if there is the infrastructure and a new customer.

So to retain the speed and find something cheaper what are my options? no other full fibre is installed here. Well it is but ive called the company who put it in, formerly known as "Swish" and they say it isnt here. But it is!

Any help or suggestions if you have any?

You would get a better price if you dump the expensive un-necessary Halo add on.

Unless you have found a real need for the add-ons you are paying for just tell BT to remove if from your renewal package.

The Customer Service rep will no doubt put up a load of reason why you need it but do not be swayed and tell the rep that you are prepared to lodge a complaint and ultimately leave BT if Halo is not removed.

Your speeds will remain the same and the price will be lower without Halo

Apologies, I'm only going on what i read: "other providers" no names- seem to imply that i will get half speed as none of them uses the bonded lines, therefore, only half speed. And if everyone can charge £40 for 900 speeds then I guess im locked into BT, besides downgrading my Halo, which i only acquired to keep my home biz up at all times.

Halo does say you can "Switch" to Full Fibre at no extra cost, thats not my qualm, its being locked in to expensive 2 year contract and at double the cost of Full Fibre. I spoke to BT and they said nope not cost reductions when its insatlled inside the contract. Ill happily be educated about the technology as to where to find the info that other providers can offer the speeds i get with my bonded line. Ive been through many offers so far, punching in my address, etc., and they all come up half speed.

What do you mean by bonded line ?, the usual meaning is aggregating two or more copper pairs , using relatively specialist routing equipment, so (basically ) if the max speed were 50 Mb from one line , two lines bonded together can provide the equivalent of 80-90Mb , you can’t get this as a regular BT FTTC connection so I doubt it’s that , so what do you consider your bonded line to be ?

we had severe issues with the single line which was in bad shape and the engineers kept on coming out this was years ago now i cant recall the details, but im sure i ended with a "pair" of wires which im sure he said were bonded, im sorry if i have the terminology wrong

I suspect @WSH is right , you probably have Gfast and it’s no longer for sale , so unless you continue on the existing deal (so not renewing or changing ISP ) that’s the only way to keep the current system in use , as doing anything else will put you on FTTC and the speeds available from that , Gfast is no longer a supported Openreach product, so eventually you will need to leave it anyway.

FWIW , if 70-80 Mb is available on FTTC and you get 145Mb from Gfast , I doubt there is many situations where you would notice the difference even if it’s half the speed , for most things 70Mb is more than adequate.

The only Bonded DSL Services I ever came across was the Hatteras System where we’d Bond 4, 6 or 8 Copper Pairs.

The System was very expensive though and was a Business only Service, it was never sold as a Residential Consumer Product.

It never really took off because FTTC pretty much superseded it in regards to speed.

In the whole time I was on the Tools I installed no more than half a dozen.

There was of course the old Home Highway Service but that was discontinued years and years ago when ADSL really took off.

I reckon what the OP has is G.Fast.

No, you'll have the link, that's why it goes full screen. I just get the image. I did copy it and enlarge it but is is too blurry to read.

If it says no FTTP that's probably it. What you can do, though, is declare an interest with Openreach. They'll then email you updates about what is going on. They tell you when it is available, (probably a couple of weeks before BT's website says it is). Openreach's website is here:

https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/express-interest-in-full-fibre

If it doesn't do that it might be a browser setting that is stopping it. Try a different browser.
