Broadband speed 5Mbps if I'm lucky

My broadband speed is rarely more than about 5Mbps. This is nowhere near the guarantee on my contract. It's a copper link to the street box, so should I expect more or is this it? Thanks.

How are you getting that result? On a device on wifi or ethernet? Plus on what speed tester?

On BTs own checker and on an online checker. Via a laptop on WiFi. I have an engineer coming, it was flagged automatically when I did the test on Friday - which was showing 2.8 then! So it has improved a bit. We don't have fibre here, it's a wired connection to the cabinet.

If there's a fault flagged & they're coming out there is clearly an issue & the guarantee must be higher

if you enter your phone number or if no longer have phone then use your address and post results. this will show what is available to you and speeds expected

it would also be helpful if you posted your hub stats from hub manager then advanced setting

there is no speed guarantee when using a wifi connection

Thanks. The guarantee is higher, but it's not massive because this area's not brilliant.

Thanks. This would be helpful I'm sure, if I had a clue how to do those things....
That's not meant to be snidey, I really don't know how to do these things, or where to go to do them...
