Broadband ac adaptor

I have a BT Smart Hub Type A router and require a longer ac adaptor cable to reach the wall socket

is there one available?

I’ve seen extension cables advertised but they seem primarily for extending CCTV leads and I wondered if they worked with a router or whether degradation anyway.

can anyone advise me please ?

can you not just use a power extension like a trailing 2/4 way socket

Doesn't matter what an extension is designated for, you just need to ensure that the DC jacks are the correct size. Both inner & outer barrel dimensions & ideally length too.

Perhaps you haven't noticed , but posts just appear in sequential order so unless you quote the post or use the @ function to tag somebody, we have no idea to who or what your question is intended for.

Sorry I didn’t realise you were referring to a general extension lead. I only have a double socket and one is using an extension of that is solely for the CCTV leads
I didn’t want to plug another one into the other socket as it will look a bit messy.
I also I thought I’d read somewhere that I shouldn’t plug the broadband adaptor into an extension

There is no problem plugging the hub power lead/adapter into the electric power extension. It won't affect your connection

A quick look at an old Type A Smart Hub seems to suggest that the centre pin is 2.5mm, whereas CCTV is generally 2.1mm. So just Google "2.5x5.5mm DC extension cable" & you should find want you need.
