@gg30340 I have just tried a factory reset (a hard reset via the button on the Hub) and can confirm that Smart Set up is still showing as OFF.

My reason for doing a reset (besides trying what you mentioned) was to get the original Hub Manager password back as I had altered it earlier thinking it was a required step. 5Ghz band was back on by default, now turned off. Manual setting of wireless channel back to Ch1 also done although curiously Smart Channel had actually picked Ch 1 as most suitable which is quite satisfying as I can imagine my previous use of Ch1 has caused everyone else's hardware to move elsewhere (lol).

So all good up to now.

Hi all . Home hub got updated to latest firmware on 6th April and since then had a few issues first noticed Disney plus was buffering on firestick . Then tried netlfix and iPlayer which are hardwired Ethernet to hub and both were buffering or could not connect . Restarted hub a few times and then finally did hard reset . Speeds back to 50mb but everything seems a bit laggy . Also the bt app will no longer give me a wifi speed I tried last night and it was down to 2mb or less on some tests using standard speed test app . Any known issues with latest firmware ?

You've probably done all the right things but overlooked one thing that can cause all kinds of problems, by resetting your hub you have also re-enabled Dumb.. er sorry - that should be Smart Setup. I suspect disabling that will solve your problems, see What is Smart Setup on the BT Hub?

Just speculating here.

Maybe you can test it by either connecting a device which has never been connected before or maybe it will work if you tell a current device to forget the network and then factory reset the hub and reconnect????????????

Usually after a firmware upgrade, a factory reset of the home hub is best, to ensure that the latest default configuration file is installed.

Has anyone gotten any milage with this issue? The new grey interface also has downgraded functionality. Some options are missing. It can't seem to handle multiple devices on the network either which is a nightmare in a 5 person household, and I'm noticing similar symptoms here so I'm just wondering if you guys have any leads on this mystery. Thanks.

Internet then started again to be intermittently bad.

Repeated the above.... after leaving the router off for 30 mins - same results.

BT are sending me a new router in lieu of having an engineer come out....engineer would take longer.

Am open to any additonal ideas.... have work tomorrow morning and can't really afford an intermittent connection...

Mine upgraded on 7th April. I hadn't spotted that Smart Setup had gone - thank goodness, unless it means it's permanently on.

My Public WiFi status is showing "Not Active" for the first time ever that I can remember. I'd opted out ages ago but it always said "active" but BT reassured me (!) it wasn't active, just being reported wrong.

No issues with speed or connectivity here - G.fast @145Mbs with quite a few wired and wireless devices. The hybrid connect also seems to work fine as we've had quite a few outages in the last 2 days due to a fault on our local cabinet. (It's been running on generators for nearly 2 months due to an earthing fault and the generators keep stopping.)
