Smarthub 2 Firmware latest version?

Hi,

My hub Firmware updated last night. I cannot find anywhere what the latest Firmware Version should be, does anybody know?

I noticed that the hub manager is now grey boxes and they used to be blue. Any explanation?

As far as I am aware the latest version is v0.37.00.07084-BT. My hub was updated to that yesterday, 17th Oct 2022.

As regards the grey boxes, It is just a change of colour by BT, no special reason.

Yes,

mine updated to that version on 8th October. Grey boxes until activated....then blue.

I received v0.37.00.07084-BT on 19th October & has a very handy feature to be able to completely disable wireless on the wireless settings page.

Previous to this, the only way to fully disable the hub emitting a Wi-Fi signal is to contact BT to disable the BT Wifi and then sometime afterwards it stops. This is very valuable for those of us using other products to provide Wifi on Channels 36-48 at 80mhz.

Well spotted. Very surprising that BT have done this as it allows the use of BT wifi while out and about but without having to opt out.

However, they haven't improved the My Devices network connections screen, its still totally useless. According to my hub I have 6 devices connected to my wifi discs, the only problem is that I don't have any discs.

May or may not be related, but a number of the problems I have had with Homekit devices such as smart plugs and lights (i.e. showing an error or not being able to remotely turn on or off), seems to have been resolved in the last few days since the update.

Coincidence?

The problem with Smart devices is they try to connect to the app in ad-hoc mode at 2.4Ghz when the phone is connecting to the hub at 5Ghz. Turning off 5Ghz on the hub forces the phone to use 2.4Ghz.

Real shame there is no option to split the 2.4 and 5ghz networks like there was on my Asus router as this would solve a lot of my smart home device issues. Holding out hope they'll add this in the future maybe. Who knows.

All you need to do is temporarily turn off the 5ghz WiFi until you have connected the devices and then turn it back on again.

I have the following just updated

v0.38.00.10147-BT which says on the router the following date Tue Feb 7 16:35:54 2023

Any advance on this?

Still running v0.37.00.07084-BT following FTTP install in October.

If you reboot the hub it should download the latest firmware, mine did.

Firmware version:v0.38.00.10147-BT

Interesting note here logged into technical log and noted that firmware had stated it was updated today but still reporting v0.37.* and my "DSL" uptime was still over 7 days so obviously not rebooted.

When reviewing the event log found the following -

07:24:41, 17 Feb. Image validation is successful.

07:24:08, 17 Feb. Hub is waiting to apply new firmware.

07:24:08, 17 Feb. download firmware image success

07:24:08, 17 Feb. CWMP: Download status=OK

07:24:08, 17 Feb. CWMP: Download File, File type:1 Firmware Upgrade Image, File Name: BT_hh6dx_drop38.bin.bt.signed, Username=, CommandKey=

So the update is downloaded and pending install at next reboot so appears not that case it will automatically reboot once downloaded.

Mine downloaded v0.38.* on the 17th Feb and was pending install showing 120 days uptime (no reboot every 2 weeks for me!). Automatic reboot today (18th Feb) in the early hours and now showing just a few hours uptime as expected with v0.38 active.

Anyone spot any changes from v0.37 to v0.38 ? There is now a QR code on the "Advanced wireless" page for each wirless band, but that may have been there previously and I just didn't spot it.

Only other, possibly co-incidental, change is that my Hybrid EE modem has gone from "one bar" and poor signal strength to "two bars" and good signal strength. Haven't moved my modem, but signal may have improved iresepective of firmware change.

Just checked my still v0.37.* and although my wireless is typically disabled fully I enable and can see the mini QR code on each band which when click do enlarge which is useful to remember if you had a complex password.

I've just installed a purchased SH2 from that well known auction site and it has updated to v0.41.01.10137-BT
