BT Whole Home WIFI disk constantly flashing blue (slowly) NOT in WPS mode

I have a 3 pack of white whole home discs which has been working fine for 5 years. I have just added a single disc to the system, as per the instructions. Step 3 says "Note: Wait for the light to stay solid blue for one minute." After waiting for one hour it is still flashing blue (slowly), but I have proceeded as if it was solid. Following the process through, the disc syncs and is integrated into the existing system, with devices connecting correctly.

HOWEVER, the blue light never did stop flashing, and it is still flashing, as if the wps button had been pressed, but it hasn't. If I dim the LED to OFF, it continues to flash.

How to turn it off?
