Nope.

You pair the hybrid connect with the smart hub using the cable supplied and following the instructions supplied.

Once paired, you disconnect the connect device and move it to somewhere it gets a good signal.

Then you do, nothing. The hybrid connect only kicks in if your smart hub loses its broadband connection. It is a 4G back up.

You can’t use it separately and you can’t log into it, it is a redundancy device.

It doesn’t.

Everything stays connected to the smart hub.

The hybrid connect provides the 4G connection to the smart hub, everything runs through that to keep stuff simple.

The idea is that it's all perfectly transparent. Once set up you don't need to do anything, it'll kick in when it needs to. When it comes to playing online games you'll notice if/when it does kick in, but that's just how it is!

*2 minutes downtime - I thought the system I had here that kicks in after 15 seconds was a pain!

There are no other login details than the ones for the smart hub.

The only WiFi password needed is the one for the smart hub.

You do not log into the hybrid connect, only the smart hub. The hybrid connect only connects to the smart hub (via a cable or wirelessly once paired).

Your devices such as the PlayStation only connect to the smart hub.

If it is set up correctly and connected to the smart hub, the hybrid connect has a blue EE logo. To show it is connected to 4G the signal bars light up blue.

If your broadband goes down, the smart hub light usually turns purple or green. After around 2 minutes the smart hub light should go blue again as the hybrid connect starts to provide a 4G connection (max 30 Mbps).

When your broadband comes back on, the smart hub will automatically switch back to using your normal connection.

During the whole process you do not need to touch anything, unplug anything, plug in anything or enter a code in anything.

If it isn’t working this way, you can utilise another benefit of Halo3+ which is an included tech help visit to get you all sorted.

BT Home Tech Experts
