How to increase the number of rings before answerphone kicks on a series 8500 BT home phone

I've finally worked out how to increase the number of rings before the answerphone kicks on my 8500 series BT landline phone:

Click on Menu;

Click 'select' on the first option: answer phone

use the down arrow to: settings; select OK

arrow down to Ans. &record; select OK ( you may have to select this option twice)

It now shows: "answer delay"; now use the right arrow to increase the number of rings up to a max of 10 rings and select Save.

Its taken me several hours of searching BT and google to resolve that issue. 😀
