Totally agree with you but I’m surprised that the testers of the software don’t highlight these basic issues. Oh well.

Does anybody know the latest Firmware on the new Smart Hub 3. Mine is showing r4.26.3-R-1923144-PROD-83002 in the Technical Log page.

But it doesn’t show when it was updated, it just has Not Applicable in that field (N/A showing) so it’s difficult to know the status.

I guess in some ways it is fairly academic as it is not possible to manually update the firmware anyway.

Yes, the old one was far too verbose, this one gives hardly anything. The connection speed figures are useless now too as they don't report the noise margin. One without the other is pointless.

I have fed these and other comments back to BT, but if course no response.

It's the "Agile" development methodology. Bung it out on the market as quickly as possible and fix any problems as you go along. The "Waterfall" approach was much better, but development could take years.

Unfortunately, it's the same all over now. I bought a Draytek 2767 back in April. It's now up to its eighth iteration of the firmware and there are still basic bugs galore. For example, you click on the link to register the device with Draytek and you just get "Page does not exist".

(For anyone else that has one, there was a firmware update to 5.4.0.2 a week ago on the Draytek international site. The first one I've seen flagged as "Critical security update. Update immediately". A week later, the UK site is still offering 5.4.0.1 as the latest update. Not impressed).

It's not just BT, unfortunately.

To be honest with all the niggly shortcomings that should have been sorted during development phase of this hub it performs far better than my old Smart Hub 2.
I get full signal at the bottom of the garden and achieve promised download speed than all the promises made during Smarthub 2 adverts on TV, helicopter etc😂
