I tried to upload image on here, but it's impossible to get a small enough file size, the allowance is way too small.

I've created a link for a picture (hope that's allowed).

I have took a picture of the back on 1 of the battery backup boxes, we need 2, 1 for the ONT & 1 for the smart hub. It's the latter I'm needing. But thought I'd include a picture of the same cable end I would need (with the opposite end being for the smart hub 2).

https://hypeshare.io/8XlD2cKIin5d

Hi, I'm hoping this is the right place to post.

I have 2 cyberpower battery backup batteries, but don't have the correct cable that goes from the cyber power battery to the smart hub 2, after multiple searches I cannot find where I can purchase these. Any help would be great as BT themselves said they don't have these.

I’m not sure if it helps you any, but the plug at the Smart Hub 2 end is 3.0mm (x 5.5mm). That’s an unusual size for the UK. It’s more US, I think.

The last time I saw that size on sale was CPC Farnell. Sorry, can’t give you a link, as commercial links are against forum rules, but try their website and do a search for 3.0mm dc power plug.

I think that side of the lead would probably be easiest to figure out, it's the end that attaches to the battery backup that would be harder to source. Thank you for your help though, if I figure out the other end then at least I know which I need to look for to fit the hub 2.

I'm not familiar with the Cyberpower unit myself. What type of plug is it? Is it another dc power plug? A quick Google suggests it is another 3.0mm dc power plug. (But since when can you believe everything an AI on Google tells you?)

If it is another of the same type, the common sizes in the UK are 2.1mm and 2.5mm. You can tell which by using a metric drill bit as a gauge. If a 2.5 doesn't fit it must be a 2.1 etc.

I already have power plugs for the battery units themselves, the ones to charge them if that's what you mean?

In the instructions it says remove the standard power cable that has a plug at the other end, and replace it with a cable that goes from the battery backup to the smart hub 2.

I will try the measurement suggestion, it's for my mother's house for her panic alarm, so will check it out whenever I'm there next, thank you.

Yes, that is the cable I am talking about. It's still a "power" cable, just low voltage dc, rather than mains voltage ac.

The Smart hub has a cable from a plug-in power unit (a PSU) to the hub. The hub end of that is a 3.0mm dc power plug. The hole in the centre being 3mm.

Presumably, you are replacing that PSU with a cable from the battery unit to the hub. The question was what is the type of plug used at the battery unit end of the cable, where it plugs into the battery unit? That is the unknown and I have been unable to find any picture of the back of that Cyberpower unit.

Let us know if you want any further help.

Oh right, sorry I misunderstood you. I'm not very good with electrical terms/names. I am actually on my way to my mum's house now, so I will post a picture of the back of the unit if that helps?

Thanks for explaining that for a dummy like me 🤣

Yes, the small circular socket next to the mains lead socket is some sort of dc power connector. Now whether it's 2.1, 2.4 or 3.0mm plug I can't tell. As the Smart Hub 2 is a 3.0mm plugs, it's probably the same.

Seems very strange they didn't send you one. I've found the instruction leaflet. It clearly shows one as part of the kit.

OK, I think I've found something. Take a look at this:

https://ee.co.uk/products/battery-back-up-plus-connecter-cable-for-smart-hub-2-cable-only

Now, let me be clear...I don't know for certain that this is what you are looking for, so you buy at your own risk, but it looks like the right thing to me.

I have contacts on the EE forum, so I will post a question there as to whether this is the right one for the cyberpower unit. It will probably be tomorrow before I can get an answer, though.

Yea I didn't realise there was a cable missing because I set it up when we didn't have full fibre installed, I assumed the 2nd battery was just another backup.

You'd think when they installed full fibre they could have set it up for that. I think they gave us 2 batteries because full fibre was scheduled to be installed. But the instructions only showed for the way I installed it, and they didn't have the cable I needed for the smart hub.

I contacted them this evening though, they're gonna send the 'battery backup plus' which will have a splitter cable that powers both. They did send me out a lead a few days ago, but it was for the battery backup plus, they couldn't seem to get the older battery backup cable.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated 👍

Yes, that's what I suspect the one in the link was for, which is why I couldn't be sure it was the one you needed.

Do you have a model number on the one you already have? This question has come up a few times and I'd like to get to the bottom of it. If I have a model number I can query it with CyberPower's own support people.
