When you set up a new event are you able to set the reminders to 'none' @SteveB21?

Why do reminders set themselves in Calendar?

If I save an event in Calendar without setting a reminder and then go back to edit it, I find a 15 minute reminder is also set. If I don't remember to cancel it I get an irritating reminder I don't need. Why? Another annoying quirk!

Good morning @SteveB21.

Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

I've gone ahead and highlighted this with our Email team for further investigation.

We should be all good here as they were able to replicate the same thing you've noticed, but if we did require any further details from you down the line I'll let you know 😊

Hi again @SteveB21.

Just for absolutely clarity, can I please confirm that if you don't amend the reminder section when editing an event, does the reminder notification definitely go off?

If you can please test this for me and let me know the time that you did this, that would be perfect.

Sorry, I took my eye off this. Yes, the reminder sets itself without any action on my part. Further, recently it is not possible to switch the notification off.

Hi Rach.

BT seems to have responded to this post by setting default reminder to "no reminder". This change seems to have been introduced fairly recently. This is a pity as I often forget to set a reminder time so don't get informed of events in my calendar. In the past, I relied on there being a default time which I could change if necessary.

Would it be possible to add a parameter in settings to allow users to set their own default reminder time so that all users can get the reminders they want without having to remember to set one?

Thanks
