      <title>Help needed: disconnection issues ppp lcp termination request</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have been having the ppp send termination request issue as far back as I can remember 6 years plus probably and have posted about it before. I have done every suggestion given to me by this great community which I am very great full for, eg quiet line tests, plug directly into master socket, third party routers, numerous open reach engineers out who check my line and say it’s perfect all the way to the exchange (i am on FTTC) when I ask them about this issue there not sure and often say I know more about it than them. Any way last night again at 00.45 I had the termination request and then pages of PPP sending Padi until 3.00am, I get up at 4.00am and realised some of my wireless devices weren’t connected and had to reconnect them. Can any one please offer any help on this issue of why this happens because it’s driving me up the wall when I get disconnected. Is there a specialist that can help me solve this issue. I also get the SH2 14 day reboot which I’m ok with but it’s these other things that are head scratching. Is there a specialist that can help me as if I phone BT they’ll just send another engineer out which won’t solve my problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks so much&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;So it happend again last night, same thing ppp lcp termination request around the same time of 12.50am so now because of the disconnections it’s halved my speeds from around 74mbps to 35mbps and my snr has shot up from 3.3 to 12.4.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;im tired of these issues, it’s actually quite stressing most times. I’m gonna phone when I get back from work, I’m propably going to switch provider.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;any suggestions are welcome&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;cheers….&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I can only get FTTC here, yes I thought that would be the case. But would another provider like sky have there own or rented equipment at the exchange? So if I did switch it might make a difference to where I’m connected into another block (I’m not totally sure how it works at the backend) also my bill would be a lot cheaper to start with…&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;No Sky use the same Openreach network, cabinets and cable pairs. Its only ADSL (slow broadband) equipment that Sky have in the exchanges, and that is being slowly removed.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Oh ok, thanks for that,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;mmmmmm… I’m totally lost then, I’m going to change over the SH2 with another SH2 that I have, maybe the older firmware on the replaced one might do something, but I don’t think it will as I’ve used tp links ones in the past and still had these logs on those as well.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;is there anything I can do such as ask for a specific department when I phone BT as I’ve had this issue for ever?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Thank you for posting. I'm sorry if you've been having problems with your connection. The&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;PPP LCP termination request can happen for a number of different reasons. If you are seeing the disconnection happen around the same time each night it could indicate&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://kitz.co.uk/adsl/rein.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;REIN interference.&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Does anything else happen in the house around the same time, do you have any device set to the timer, like a water heater or central heating?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Please can you give us a few details about your setup, what devices are you using, do you have any powerline or wireless repeaters?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Please could you post your router stats as this will help to give an indication of what the connection is doing?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager.&amp;nbsp; Click&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‘&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Advanced Settings’&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;and then&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;‘Technical log’.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Probably a very high error rate on your line.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Provided you do not have BT Digital Voice, see if there is any noise on your phone calls by dialling 17070 and selecting option 2.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The time you are seeing disconnections, is most likely the time that DLM is making changes to your connection, in an attempt to make the line stable. Its forcing a re-sync.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi Keith,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I haven’t got DV yet although I have had an email and post to say I’m switching quite soon, i hope that doesn’t complicate things further, I’ve done a quiet line test with a corded phone and all seems good, also have directly connected to the master socket in the past for 4-5 weeks at that time but issues were the same.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;the last engineer that came out 2 months ago said my line was one of the best he’s seen when tested! And said this must be a back end issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;with REIN could it be a neighbour causing the issue?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Evening gents,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;wow so I’ve had issues with ppp lcp disconnections and my speed dropped from 74 to 35mbps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;ok so I phone customer service who agreed and will send an engineer to reset my line next week…..ok&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i log into my account and I’m still on fibre 1 and my speeds still state up to 71 and down, up to 18, ok great just checking I’m still on for what I’ve been paying&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;go to the deals page out of curiosity and BAM it says my fibre 1 ( must be a new name now) has different up and down speeds, 36 down and 9 up, hold on that’s what my router stats are telling me as well!!!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;have BT halved our speeds without TELLING US because my payments are the same and about to go up in April&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;WHATS GOING ON!!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;it’s strange because when I log in to my Bt some pages show my existing normal what I’m paying for speed and others say I’m on a much lower speed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;everyone check your speeds if your on fibre1 (71down, 18up)&lt;/P&gt;</description>
