Hiya,

OpenReach attended my home Friday and installed everything but I noticed this image on someone else's post and they didn't install a Battery backup Unit. Was this an oversight on their part?

That’s an old image , OR don’t fit a BBU anymore ( not as standard anyway ) , the BBU in the image was for the relatively short lived FVA ( fibre voice access ) service , where the ONT had a TEL port and the phone instrument plugged into it , not every BT customer takes a phone service but those that do get DV ( digital voice ) and the phone plugs into the router TEL port, your ONT will be significantly smaller than the one in the image , only have 1 port availability for the router to plug into.
