it is new install and master socket which you currently use will not be used

from your other post it appears you are fed from a pole and then the new fibre cable will follow the existing cable to your home. you will then need to discuss with installer where you would like the ONT (fiber modem) installed and hopefully that will be ok. you then need to connect the hub to the ONT by ethernet cable. the ONT has to be connected to electrical socket

if you have relatively new SH2 then it is capable of being changed to FTTP in hub manager

I’m already an existing BT broadband customer, I’ve just upgraded to 500mb fibre and is being installed next month. Is it a case of just replacing my current router? As it’s currently behind my tv which is nowhere near my outside wall and I’d like it to remain there. Just not sure if it’s a whole new install because if it is it’s going to be difficult to get the cables required to other side of my living room 🙈

It will be a total new install. Discuss with the engineer where you want the ONT. Obviously the ONT is best on an outside wall, the hub does not need to be beside it.
