There's no need to worry about it full stop. Everything will get sorted out with the installation, it's not your concern or responsibility.

Cut Phone Wire

Hi, we've just moved in to a new flat and we're hoping to get fibre broadband. We've already ordered a plan and are having an engineer over next week to install a land line, as we did not previously have one. My question is whether it'll be much of a problem that the wire coming from the land line socket is cut and that where it might've connected to before appears to have been plastered over (kind of poorly) by our landlords. Will it be something that can be fixed that day, or will they not be able to do anything, and if they could do something would that incur additional costs? I feel like we're in a bit of a pickle here.

-Jess

if you have ordered a broadband package including landline are you sure you are not getting digital voice which does not use existing phone sockets?

We have ordered broadband Fibre 2 and we're asked before checkout if we had a land-line number. We said no and were told an engineer would come next week to install a land line. We don't know if this'll be digital voice or not as we were only looking to get broadband and didn't specifically ask for anything more. Our package summary mentions nothing about a land-line.

FTTP is a completely fresh install and does not use any existing copper wiring so no need to worry about it
