Providers don't think I can get superfast broadband when Openreach says I can

Hi. I'm moving into a rented property.
It has an Openreach 5C master socket fitted.
Openreach website says the address has Superfast Fibre Broadband available.
But when I check with providers (including BT) they say they cannot offer anything above standard broadband - max 10mbps download.
The call centre guy at BT checked and said it was because 'Openreach hadn't updated its status yet' and suggested I try again in a week.
He didn't sound very confident.
In any event, my understanding from the landlord is that the socket is not a recent addition to the property.
I'm confused and can't find a way of checking with Openreach whether what the BT guy says about the 'status' is true.
Anyone have any ideas?

The presence of not if a master socket is entirely irrelevant as to whether you can get FTTC or standard broadband.

I'm afraid I don't have the phone number (I have no account set up at the property).

How do I find out the Access Line ID or the UPRN? I'm unfamiliar with both

You can't get super fast broadband because the cabinet is full and there are no spare ports.

All you can do us hope a port becomes spare. Keep checking the site and when it says available rather than waiting list, place an order.

Waiting list is a misnomer by the way, there is no waiting list.

I'm struggling to read the screenshot on a mobile, but it appears to show waiting list for FTTC (VDSL) and available for standard broadband (ADSL)

That would tally with what providers are saying but not with this, from Openreach results

Ope reach just show that it is available to your address but as already posted your cabinet is full and you have a waiting list hence you cannot order FTTC and FTTP is not available

The Openreach site just shows generic information, the checker, real time information updated weekly.

In order for me to get superfast, would someone using that cabinet have to get superfast disconnected? (And why would anyone do that?)
Would the alternative be that Openreach build another/bigger cabinet?

You ask why anyone would disconnected from FTTC ( Superfast ) , but you are moving into a property , for you to do that , someone moved out , as people move in and out of properties they cease and connect to FTTC , some may use a different network, or just use mobiles , so ‘waiting list’ today could easily become ‘available’ tomorrow….it’s even possible that the property you are moving into had FTTC but the previous occupant hasn’t advised their ISP yet that they have moved out , so the Openreach equipment they were on isn’t yet showing as available but will soon.

Openreach do increase the capacity of cabinets if they see the commercial need , but with the onus on FTTP and not FTTC , expansion of FTTC probably isn’t going to make commercial sense

Aha. So, its the ISP that takes up the cabinet space, as it were, rather than the property itself? Makes sense.
Do you know if there's a way of setting an alert so as to be notified when a cabinet space becomes available? Or is that the 'Register My Interest' button here?

In the very unlikely situation that the cabinet is sub-equipped with plug in cards, it would be a simple matter to increase the capacity and Openreach would do so fairly quickly. However, in the far more likely scenario that an extra cabinet or extension to the cabinet is required to provide capacity, it just won't happen I'm afraid.

As stated earlier, the concept of a waiting list is a misnomer, there is no alert system or register of interest.

One glimmer of hope is the way in which home moves are handled. If a customer moves out of a property, the new owner doesn't automatically get the port, it is made available and the first to grab it gets it. Not good for people moving into a property with service hoping to take it over, but good for you without a service.
