Road being cabled...when?

Openreach are in my road, lots of markings in white on pavement with CATV. Educated guess that this is fibre installation.

I have registered on Openreach where it says my address is due for full fibre by Dec 2026.

I currently have Virgin Media and desperate to move away. Anyone have an inside track on how I can find out when BT Fibre will actually be available? A few months I may wait but 3.5 years...nah.

CATV = Cable TV i.e Virgin

Afraid there's no definite way to find out an exact go live date.

Just keep an eye out on the Openreach and BT Wholesale broadband checkers and roadworks ect...

unfortunately no one inside BT or Openreach or another provider cannot give time fames.

keep an eye out on Openreach.com and subscribe to keep yourself updated on all the latest updates and developments within your area.

I’m afraid them works you see appear to be Virgin Media.

Interesting - thanks. The roadworks have BT Openreach signs on them with code numbers too. Maybe they marked the VM cable beforehand to not interfere with them? If I see someone working there today I'll go and talk to them.

it’s hard to say for sure but normally their tends to be a partnership where if they are digging or something they allow Virgin Media, LilaCinnect, Voom, etc to install their infrastructure as the same time.

once complete you’ll get a free install voucher in the post anyways this is your notification of said services.
