FTTP - Paved Driveway

Hi - trying to renew my internet for parents and Sky / BT are offering FTTP over FTTC.

My parents have had their road dug up by Cityfibre recently who did a pretty awful job.

Their issue is their driveway is about ten foot long and fully paved so how will Openreach / Sky get the wires to property without causing damage?

I cannot expect them to do it well.

Any help appreciated.

Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.

Is Sky going to provide their service?

If so, you need to ask the question on the Sky forum, as BT Retail have no connection with what Openreach do.

You cannot have FTTP over FTTC as far as I know. If it is FTTC then there will not be any change at the premises.

Don't BT own Openreach?

Openreach is a separate company within the BT group.

https://www.openreach.com/

This is a BT Retail customer forum.

Sky get the same service from Openreach, as BT Retail do. They need to discuss their installation with Sky.

If FTTP is available then it’s the default network, so even if an address previously had FTTC , if a new service is ordered it will be via FTTP , although FTTP can deliver higher speeds than FTTC , you can also have 40, 55 or 80Mb on FTTP if that’s was the customer wants.
As far as the OP question about how service will be provided with regard to the paved driveway, unless the OP supply’s the requested info , it’s impossible to say with any certainty

The fibre cable from the pole will normally follow the existing copper cable probably to eaves and then it will come down to ground level where openreach will fit the CSP which is where the external fibre cable is joined to the internal fibre then drill hole to let fibre cable into home and then connect the ONT (fibre modem) which then connects to SH2
