Random disconnects only with browser traffic, game traffic is untouched for hours?

If I make lots of forum posts, or open lots of websites, it seems to trigger a drop in connection for a minute or two at random intervals spanning 5 minutes - hour or so. But I can game for hours without issue? Why is using the browser heavily triggering these disconnects but not intense network games?

I actually had this issue with Virgin, I use powerline adapters. But I'm sure I had this when direct connected to the router too.

The problem is your browser, not your internet connection.

What makes you think there is a drop in connection/disconnect - is anything showing in any log?

Which browser are you using?

Having lots of browser tabs open will slow both your browser and device giving the impression of disconnection.
