It takes 2 or 3 minutes to kick in. You can test it is working by disconnecting your hub from line.

My daughter was watching a film on our Smart TV on Disney plus. The Internet dropped out , film stopped and my phone lost connection to wifi but the EE backup didn't kick in. Had to reset Hub. The EE Hub is next to the smart hub and has a clear signal of 2 bars. I haven't kept them connected with an ethernet cable as it has a decent signal.

If the hub went green it wasn't the internet dropping, it was the hub re- booting hence the Hybrid connect wouldn't have anything to connect to.

You seem to have conveniently edited your post whilst I was replying.

Did the hub turn green or not?

It is because it changed green when I reset it after it dropped out. Not sure what you meant by the "conveniently" comment.

So what colour did it change to when the internet dropped out and how long did you give the Hybrid connect to take over? It's quite a delay before it kicks in

It was purple, it could be we didn't leave it long enough but I thought I read somewhere you wouldn't necessarily notice that it had dropped out as it switches over quickly . Tbh it probably felt longer than it actually was as my daughter wasn't best pleased 🙃

OK thanks for your help. The only reason I have posted on here is because we have had it for a long time and I have never ever had a connection problem ...I work from home 5 days a week.

Thanks for taking the time to reply
