      <title>Inconsistent broadband speeds</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm hoping the community can help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've had inconsistent speed from my broadband since around March, before that the speeds were pretty consistent for 5 months or so before that.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've dropped from around 20mb to sometimes less than 1mb. This can be for a few minutes but generally it's a few hours but it has dropped speeds.for three days.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've had 4 engineering visits, first no fault, second replaced master socket, third advised to replace router (which is done) fourth replaced terminals? at cabinet but then no fault found.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have carried out speed tests over WiFi but today I connected my laptop via Ethernet cable and speeds were just as slow (1mb). After about 10mins I did a BT app speed test which still stated 4mb to hub way below my speed guarantee.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Bt support had suggested it was a wireless device so I disconnected all but speed test from 2 devices showed same low speeds.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Nothing has changed at my property, same wireless devices from before March when I didn't have an issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've changed the router to mode 2 but speed still drops at hub.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help / support appreciated&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Are you sure you are on an ADSL connection, as 20Mbs seems too fast, unless you live next door to the exchange?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What BT package are you on, as it seems more likely you are on fibre 1?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;From dslchecker you have a connection speed of 27/2.5mb which is top end of your estimated speed.&amp;nbsp; Are you able to post stats from your hu&amp;nbsp; advanced setting then technical log information&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Is it your download speed that is dropping especially at peak time? Is download ok off peak?&amp;nbsp; If so it sounds like congestion on your exchange&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Would you like information or event log?&lt;BR /&gt;Tbf both upload and download speeds go slow. At 10.57am download 1.13mb and upload was 0.28mb&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also my neighbours, all with BT are unaffected by these speed dips.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;the connection uptime was only 10 hrs was that due to hub dropping connection or manual reset.&amp;nbsp; the stats from your hub look good and in line with expected from dslchecker&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;do you have SKYQ?&amp;nbsp; if so change your 5ghz channel on hub to something other than 36 as that is used by SKYQ&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I don't think problem is your connection speed as your noise margin is 3.3db suggesting good stable line and G.INP active.&amp;nbsp; It sounds more like your download speed and possible congestion but if so surprised does not affect neighbours.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;are you using wifi or ethernet connections?&amp;nbsp; slow on both or just wifi?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;any speed tests on btspeedtester or fast.com need to be with ethernet connection direct to hub ( no powerline adapter) not wifi as wifi to susceptible to interference&lt;/P&gt;</description>
