Hi, it’s was just a general question if anyone knew. I know this isn’t for open reach but they are mentioned a lot on here as they tend to install the network. There are 9 plots it wasn’t till we had pretty much moved that we realised that there was no fibre. They have recently upgraded the area. I can only assume that as the development is new and not fully finished it will be missed completely.

I will try and speak to the builder again. Thanks for your the information.

This forum is for BT retail customers and has no connection with Openreach.

It is up to your developer to contact Openreach in order to have fibre installed in the properties that he is building. If he is not prepared to do that there is nothing this forum can do to help you.

As stated, it’s nothing to do with BT , but the rate card is on the basis that developer is ‘all in’ and not in the case ( for example ) building 10 properties and wants FTTP for 1 or 2 , it’s all or none ….how big ( or small ) is the development ? As can be seen from the rate card the more plots the relatively cheaper FTTP becomes and at a point ( AFAIK over 19 plots ) its free to the developer….if your builder for arguments sake was building 4 houses on a vacant plot , or on the site of a demolished building, they would be required to contribute £10k , if they were not prepared to do so , then the existing copper network would be extended to pick up up the 4 new address, unless FTTP was already serving the area.
