Fibre availability in N4 2SU

Openreach say fibre is available in North London N4 2SU but BT does not seem to be aware or it! Can barely get 9 Mb/s down and only get less than 1 Mb/s up on ADSL. What is the current situation for this postcode please? Struggled to communicate with Openreach on their website (didn't find an option to ask this question).

Had Openreach full fibre only become available recently?

The BT Wholesale Checker shows only ADSL broadband being available and looks like an exchange only line

Have used the form and Openreach confirm fibre can be ordered for N4 2SU. How do I convince BT it is available?

can you enter your address not post code and post results if BT customer and don't have digital voice then use phone number

After entering the subscribers phone number in “https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/telephoneHome”

it reports that Canonbury TE is not in the priority program for FTTP so cannot understand why Openreach are saying it is available.

There are similat posts where openreach have told customers that FTTP is available but it was available in the area just not at some customers address. Until you see FTTP available in the dslchecker you will not be able to place order - unless you have neighbours who have FTTP using openreach connection

It would have helped if you had posted dslchecker results including notes

Thanks for dslchecker results and as you said there is no FTTP available to you currently. Just need to keep checking until you see FTTP available then place order

Have you check with any neighbours to see if they have managed to get FTTP and problem may be an error in openreach database

Although curiosity killed the cat , I was a little nosy and had a look on ‘street view’ at the postcode , obviously this only allows a general view of the area and not the OP address specifically, but sufficient to gauge how the existing copper service is delivered , and that appears to be by ‘E’ type copper DP’s ( External wall blocks ) , the usual FTTP upgrade would be to site a fibre CBT next to the copper DP on the building wall , this would normally require permission of the building owner as the wayleave for the copper DP doesn’t automatically cover a new attachment.

With that in mind, the OP could do their own ‘survey’ , if there has been a CBT sited on the wall in the vicinity of the copper DP on their building , then the Openreach availability check is probably correct , and other availability checkers are not yet updated , however if there is no evidence of newly installed CBT’s then its likely the OR checker is simply wrong and there is no FTTP available.

This road is where my sister in law lives. I live 30 miles away. I will have a look when I am next up there. When I checked FTTP a few weeks ago BT said by the end of 2025! Thank you for taking an interest. I am ex BT THQ but took the package 26 years ago after 36 years. Things have changed a lot since then.
