Hello folks. Every few hours, my family start hammering me because the "internet is broken". What I see in a trace is high latency at the hop right after my fibre router. It's a private IP address but I have no idea what it is. What I do is go round restarting various things and it comes good. So I am thinking it is something in my house. Does anyone know what this 172 address is

Tracing route to cnn-tls.map.fastly.net [146.75.75.5]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 8 ms 2 ms 5 ms 192.168.1.254
2 808 ms 879 ms 940 ms 172.16.17.64
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 869 ms 952 ms 960 ms 62.172.102.70
5 771 ms 829 ms 860 ms peer7-et0-0-6.telehouse.ukcore.bt.net [62.172.103.37]
6 * * * Request timed out.
7 1022 ms 1068 ms 1063 ms 146.75.75.5

Thanks very much @licquorice

would it be reasonable for me to report this to BT as a potential fault with the BRAS? I have reported a fault, but the live chat person I spoke to didnt know what it was. They just did a line check and concluded no issue
