Hello,

A year ago I had Sky Q with FTTP broadband and the little Nokia ONT is still working but switched off (mains unplugged).

Looking at the broadband checker site (by address, as my phone is currently with Virgin Media)

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressFeatureProduct

It says FTTP Install Process = '1 Stage' - which from other sites I've looked at seems to mean an engineer's visit is needed to enable the service.

I'm now intending to leave VM (as the costs are about to double) and have bought a Freesat box for TV so I'll need a new broadband link to replace VM.

When I switch on the ONT the PON light is solid with no LOS although the LAN port seems to be disabled (remotely?) as plugging a laptop in doesn't bring up the light.

The BT site says

'ONT exists with no active service. A spare port is available. A new ONT may be ordered'.

So, my long-winded question is just, can this service be enabled remotely when I order a new broadband service or is an engineers visit required?

Thanks for your time. Chris.
