To note the migration to Digital Voice can trigger the move to Full Fibre if you are in a Openreach FTTP priority area where there's a copper stop sell in place.

You can find out if your in a Openreach FTTP priority area by following the instructions here: https://landlinesgo.digital/checkmyline/

If you are then a change such as moving to BT Digital Voice (or even a upgrade or renewal of broadband or phone line services) will automatically trigger a compulsory move to Full Fibre too.

If you are not in a Openreach FTTP priority area then as others have said you can get BT Digital Voice over FTTC with SOGEA

Digital Voice + Full Fibre

New Poster here and I’m going to ask what maybe a couple of stupid questions…..

Do you have to have Full Fibre (FTTP) as part of the move to Digital Voice?. At present I believe I have Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) getting 60Mbps D/L and 18Mbps U/L.

I have my Home Hub plugged into a Secodary Socket behind the TV. This is because the NTE (First Socket) is in a stupid place in the kitchen. Therefore the question is, if I don’t need / get Full Fibre will my Home Hub still work plugged into the Secondary Socket.

In other words leave everything as it is.

Many Thanks

1) Yes, it will work fine. Mine has been on Digital Voice, (DV), with FTTC for 18 months now.

2) If that worked before it will work now. As Licquorice said, the only thing that changes is that you plug the phone into the hub rather than the wall socket.

Openreach have been enthusiastic to do both the upgrade to Full Fibre (FTTP) and DV at the same time where possible. This has led to confusion that DV needs FTTP. In fact, it does not.
