      <description>&lt;P&gt;i have FTTC and live in a rural spot 1 mile from the cabinet...so appreciate its never gonna be fast (frustratingly)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i get circa 20-25mbps Download&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But Upload is awful - takes ages for example to upload a PPT in work....didnt use to be this bad when i was with Vfone and Plusnet etc&lt;/P&gt;&lt;DIV class=""&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;Extract from the Hub Manager page (192.168 etc):&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Downstream sync speed: 20.147 Mbps&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;FONT color="#FF0000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Upstream sync speed: 667 Kbps&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;Can this be right?&amp;nbsp; in keeping with 20mb download?&lt;BR /&gt;Do i need to call Tech support ?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; (i fear doing this as i will get asked all the same daft questions about my router, wire etc)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;Many Thanks!&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I think a chat with technical support is worth the effort, yes I am sure there will be some questions about the set up and whats been done but that won't take long they can then identify if there are any issues and investigate further.&amp;nbsp; Whilst there are plenty of things that can effect this, wired connection vs wireless and how many devices are on the network its worth an investigate&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;the copper line to my house is awful - over 25 years and 100% of the issues we have had is resolved by Open Reach coming to replace line or fix the line etc.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; We have had several faults this year resulting in them patching up the line&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So my strong suspicion is its the line....&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What kinda speeds should i expect for 20mbps download?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>My FTTC upload speed runs at about 1/4 of the download speed, so you should probably expect to get around 5Mbps upload.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Router is default - i didnt edit that!&amp;nbsp; (FTTP)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i am using TP link Deco mesh, but (i) those numbers are from the router (ii) download and upload is same if i connect via LAN cable to the router direct.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;FYI i did a facrory reset on my router and it came back after a longtime trying to connect (about 15 mins) with 5mbps download connection!&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So i then attempted to reboot a few times and it just didnt reconnect (after waiting for &amp;gt;30 mins).&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I then left it for a few hours and come home to find it connected....but now 17mbps....so 3mbs less than i did earlier!&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I will reboot again overnight and see what its like in morning, and then (if i have spare time) call Tech support as clearly something isnt right if its taking this long to connect and connecting at vastly different speeds?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;1. So i call CS - and follow options for Broadband...then Faults...it tells me it will send a SMS with a link&lt;BR /&gt;i get the SMS and follow it - it tells me it will send me another SMS&lt;BR /&gt;then i get an SMS saying i am not eligible as im not an EE customer - WTF?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2. Call again - get another text&amp;nbsp; - repeat as above&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3. Call again - try a different route&lt;BR /&gt;Now get a text to run fault diagnostics...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;4. Call again - back to #1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Q. is there a direct route to speak to UK/Ireland tech support?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;ok so 6th call, the IVR or whatever recognised id called multiple times and i eventually got routed to a human.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;They said my wifi channel was congested and did something....didnt change anything my end....i did try to explain that i have the BT Hub&amp;nbsp; Wifi disabled and using a Deco...and i queried that surely this wouldnt help the sync speed?&amp;nbsp; Didnt really explain...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So despite my scepticism, they have now booked in a BT home engineer to visit Monday, but not an Open reach?&lt;BR /&gt;i did query this a lot - ie that the router sync speed is limited at 14mbps surely at the BT / DLAM / Cabinet and sending an engineer to the home isnt going to help any?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Can a BT or Openreach engineer visiting my house update the DLAM?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Will see...to be honest i felt like i knew more about this than the CS representative...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
