Upgrading from Fibre 1 to Fibre 500- delay to service?

Hello, first time posting here.

I am upgrading from Fibre 1 to Fibre 500 on 1st August (this Friday).

It won't need an engineer to come out apparently, as I already have the Smart Hub 2.

Please can anyone advise if there will be a delay/cut to my existing service while this change takes place?

Thank you

Unless your fibre1 is delivered by FTTP (full fibre) your upgrade will most certainly need an engineer to provide the fibre cable and ONT.

Afraid you'll need more then the smart hub to access full fibre.

Are you already enabled for full fibre?. If not then a engineer will have to install it usually this takes about two hours if it's a straightforward install.

If its already installed then on the start date all you'll notice is vastly superior broadband.

In my order confirmation from BT it says “self install”, so I would take from that that it doesn’t need an engineer. I hope not anyway! They haven’t arranged for one to visit. Thank you for your reply.

edit- just checked my existing account, it says powered by the full fibre network 👍

Edit again- apparently I can’t read: I’m getting fibre 100, not 500 😆

Do you currently have full fibre FTTP?

You have said you have a smart Hub2 which is entirely irrelevant but haven't said if you have an ONT with full fibre which is entirely relevant.

Posted before your edit

As you already have full fibre it will just be software change to enable the faster speed.
