Live in an area where new housing is being built all around. Have previously asked for a new copper cable to be installed but openreach have refused to install one. Since then I have asked for a FTTP line since copper isn’t available but my house isn’t on the list for FTTP anytime soon. My neighbour over the road in a new property has FTTP. All the new houses behind me have FTTP but because mine is an old house we are not able to get FTTP or a copper line.
I have been backwards and forward arguing through providers and directly with openreach to no avail.

Is there anyone who can help me?

If an area can usually get SoGEA but the cabinet is full then that’s unfortunate , but all you can do you wait until a port becomes spare , you can check if it’s waiting list for SoGEA here by entering your address here

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

Nearby FTTP at new builds is irrelevant, it’s a totally different programmes that supply new builds and retro builds with FTTP , it neither disadvantages or provides an advantage to you having FTTP nearby….SoTap (ADSL) will almost certainly be available if SoGEA is waiting list , if you don’t want that , then that’s upto you, unless you are in an area where a developer knocked down every other house but yours (because you wouldn’t sell up ) and the copper infrastructure was recovered during the development, but that’s not very likely

Openreach quite understandably are not going to waste resources upgrading FTTC when It will be replaced by FTTP anyway

Have used the checker you provided but comes up with “We cannot determine broadband availability at this location. This may be a new address to which connectivity is not yet complete.”

Which is weird because since I contacted openreach about the FTTP connection I cannot see any broadband deals for my property.
I was able to see them before.

If you have an existing phone line even though not used for few months was it an openreach line or another provider like virgin? If it was openreach then don't know why your address does not show when using the address checker. Is your address correct on royal mail database?

I think the main problem is that my address shares the same name as another address. Both are connected to the same box. The are labelled with a 1 & 2 and the providers don’t know which is which. I was told since the phone line hadn’t been used for months they couldn’t use the phone number to find the line.

I also don’t have the other number that they needed to distinguish the 2. The previous occupant did say they had real difficulty getting any internet because of this.

It’s incredible how often a question is posed and only much later is the most pertinent piece of information provided…if the address doesn’t have a perfect match with what is recorded on the Openreach PAF (postal address file ) and the Royal Mail data , then an address match can’t be made , so generally ISP’s will decline to progress an order ….you phrase your question as one for Openreach ( even though this is a BT forum not an Openreach one ) , depending on which ISP you want to use , there is a process for ordering with addresses that are not ‘Gold’ but ‘Silver’ addresses , Gold are those that match exactly on Openreach and Royal Mail datasets and have had service in the past , Silver addresses have had no previous service but exist on Royal Mail database

…first you would need to decide who you want to use , some providers if the address isn’t a Gold one won’t be interested in going the extra mile using the Silver address process , if the address isn’t even in the Royal Mail database , you need that sorting out first .

Have just contacted bt customer support via phone.

it turns out Openreach have flagged my property as using old technology. I can do nothing but wait months until FTTP is available/until its no longer flagged.
