FTTP advice on kit lications

I’m upgrading from FTTC to Fttp in early March.

current setup is:

Pole on property has underground cable to garage where inside it’s connected to a grey box. White telephone cable runs across double garage then utility room to master socket in kitchen. Where an Openreach data network extension runs to the smart hub upstairs on the landing. The smart hub is next to 16 port switch so can’t be moved.
there’s no line of sight from pole to smart hub location upstairs (garage is in the way)

my understanding is that fttp has

fibre 1 pole to box csp on outside of property

fibre 2 to ONT inside property

ethernet cat 5e minimum from ont to smart hub

i can install Ethernet cable from kitchen ont to upstairs smart hub.

Questions

Can openreach run fibre 1 (pole to csp) around property? It’d be in the outside around garage and utility room to get to kitchen

how long can fibre 2 be ie CSP to ONT link be?

how do I arrange this with openreach?

Don't forget, you could have up to 100m between that switch and the hub.

you will need to discuss what you would like by way of install and see if the person doing install agrees or makes other suggestion. If it is not openreach but contractor who comes to install then as contractor is paid by the job it is unlikely they will do anything which will delay install

Yes I could move the router. The current master socket is positioned in the middle of a blank wall with just cables running from it. There’s no where to put a router.

also it has network cables for three upstairs bits of IT kit.

Hi the previous FTTC was attempted 3 times by a sub contractor I think Quinns?
It was eventually done by an Openreach guy after a further 18 month wait. We’re oddly an exchange only line and so had to wait until a new DSLAM was installed outside the exchange which needed power but ownership of the track was unknown so the wayleave couldn’t be signed!!!

Is the existing copper feed in a duct between the pole to the garage ?, if it’s armoured cable buried directly in the ground then unless you provide the means to go underground again , an overhead cable will be used from the pole to your dwelling (assuming that’s possible on the day ) …as far as how much cable will be run externally (C.O.W , cable on wall ) 30m rings a bell , internal is 10m on a standard installation, but as with every installation, if what you want is reasonable, safe , and not too time consuming it’s done , if it’s not safe , unreasonable or would take too long it’s not considered…

There is no pre install visit to discuss this , you find out on the day what’s possible and what isn’t , so best to not have too grandiose an idea around what will be done , there is a product you can pay extra for (via your provider should they agree to use it (and charge you for it ) where you get an ‘advanced’ installation, that comes with more cabling included, and more time can be spent doing a more demanding installation, if you suspect your installation is not standard perhaps you should inquire about that .

You don’t arrange anything with Openreach , you speak to BT ( I’ll presume it’s BT you use given you are posting here )
