I asked the landlord and he said NO. a big fat NO . He doesn't want more drilling. I can't argue saying they might use the same holes.

what I would like to know for how long can I carry on on Fibre 2? and to keep my landline as it is. If BT switches the landline to digital, will I lose my traditional landline because I don't have full fibre ??

If I decide to get full fibre, I live in a flat above a shop in the high street. I need to know where the boxes go, where the cables go, where they need to drill, as I would need to inform my landlord

You better not order FTTP then as there is no pre installation visit , so that you can find out in advance and then consult with your landlord with the details.
If there is already a copper pair line , FTTP will almost certainly follow the same route into the building, that ought to be good enough for your landlord.

Digital voice doesn't require fibre.

As for how long you can keep your copper broadband, how long is a piece of string.

The landlord is an idiot, how does he think he is going to rent the flat in the future

I was moved to Digital Voice (DV) two years before I moved to fibre optic. DV works fine over copper.

Openreach are very keen to do both jobs at the same time, where they can, but you definitely don't need full fibre for DV.
