      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi&lt;BR /&gt;Just had an upgrade from BT copper @ 32Mb download to a BT Full Fibre package that promises 500Mb.&lt;BR /&gt;While I realise that 500Mb might just be a sales pitch and anything over 200Mb more likely, my speed according to Ookla is just 33Mb download and the same upload.&lt;BR /&gt;I know with copper we're told to give it a few days to settle down. Does the same apply to fibre?&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If you’ve had FTTP installed at your property on a 500mbps package, that is what you’ll get. How have you connected to that speed test? WiFi or via an ethernet cable? If via WiFi and depending on what medium you’re connecting, you may well get a much lower download speed, so make sure the speed test is done connected via ethernet cable from the router directly into a laptop or PC to get a reliable result.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;500Mb on FTTP should provide that speed , there is no settling in period, you should get the speed you pay for from the outset .&lt;BR /&gt;You were given a minimum speed guarantee (that’s the throughput speed ) so if your &amp;nbsp;service is not working correctly then report it as such , the speed is guaranteed to the router , that why its &amp;nbsp;better to test speed with a wired device connected directly to the router , not over WiFi or powerline adapters for example , as they may be the reason for the poor speed .&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Have you unplugged the phone cable to the router and have you checked in the Smarthub's management pages that the FTTP status is switch on?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To check type&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;192.168.1.254&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;in to your browser's address bar then click on "Advance settings" and then "Broadband" then scroll down to FTTP.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I agree with the others.&amp;nbsp; I only upgraded to 150Mb/s myself but it’s 150 every time I test it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I’d agree with gg30340, but I’d also add that you need to be connected to the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) via a cat 5e cable going into port 4 or the WAN port.&amp;nbsp; As he said, the cable to the old phone socket can be removed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;(The ONT is the new box Openreach will have put on the wall for you).&lt;/P&gt;</description>
