I switched over to Full Fibre 3 months ago and since switching I've noticed when on Teams calls that my connection dips in and out. Joiners of calls can't seem to hear me or a freeze in the middle of sentences.

I also struggle to airplay to my TV and Netflix doesn't seem to load on my Samsung TV at all.

I've done multiple speed tests and it says it's up to scratch. Is anyone else experiencing this issue and what has helped?

I switched a few months ago and as it is a big house I knew we would have to take a lot of steps. The most important thing I have done particularly when I have 3 adult children working from home h ere on some days a week plus me in my office is an ethernet cable to each of the rooms they work. In our case as a 3 story house with very solid doors always closed it was the best solution and I bought a wireless access point where the cable from downstairs goes in 2 flights up and then the upstairs office/bedrooms where they work has the ethernet cable upstairs down from there.

Downstairs I also ran a cable from my office to the x box in one room where the boys play video games.

I did ask AI at one point should I not have moved to FTTP but it said that would b e like saying yo wished you had kept a horse and cart in the age of cars and that the answer was to improve the FTTP not want to be back in the dark ages. Our provider provided a parent mesh router thing in my home office and three child ones which plug in - two in 2 downstairs rooms and 1 upstairs. With the solid wood closed doors that was still not enough for wifi for the Teams/Zoom calls they are all making for work almost all day at times hence my ethernet cabling which was dead easy to install (I am an old grandmother). One son's bed room in other side of house with no "child" mesh thing in there and no ethernet had problems until I installed the upstairs access point thing and now he logs into that one on his mobile in bed and m oves to the normal downstairs one when he comes downstairs.

The AI I asked did imply that slower but more stable older BT speeds could get better zoom/teams calls then newer faster fibre to the premises lines which was interesting and upset me at the time - that people were saying all I had done was destroyed the internet at home by my change to FTTP. However going back was not a good option and the measure I took mean we all seem to be okay. My son's friend who works in cyber security was staying here and working from here upstairs the other week (I feel like I provide a free We Work at times) and he ciould not use the ethernet cable due to his work or lap top or something and the downstairs normal wifi was not good enough up there but when he used my upstairs access point (WAP) connection which is via the same account as downstairs but different password etc it was all fine. I think I bored everyone in the family to tears about all this but it was only because I was trying to get them ability to have all these zoom and teams calls plus good wifi so my son can watch video on his mobile in bed etc.

Thank you for your detailed response @Jane2018 , It's very helpful.

It sounds like you live in a solid, well-built house there, however that may interfere with your WIFI range.

We do offer our complete WIFI option, which provides you with WIFI extender discs.

I'd recommend running a check to see if there are any issues with your broadband.

If you text HELP to 61998 we'll run a text on your connection to see what's going on.

If a fault is identified, we'll send you a text to book a slot for an engineer.

Hi! Just wondering if you got this sorted as we're having the same issues here: fiber, 930MBit download, stable but Teams dips and drops and all machines (WiFi and ethernet connected).

Welcome to the community.

Is it just your Teams that seems to be affected.

I would definitely recommend running some checks like Chris has mentioned above.

Please text HELP to 61998 this will start a test on your connection to see if there is any faults found.

Thanks

Thanks. We are fine now that I have installed the upstairs wireless access point and those working from home now have ethernet cable to their work lap tops (and I do my PC). The pandemic has really changed working life so much. I thought by this stage only I would be here but instead several times a week I have three adult children working from home (for their employers) in different rooms with my house all with doors shut and often on Teams or Zoom calls sometimes all at once. I feel like I am a very kind mother, providing a kind of free of charge WeWork for the benefit of their employers.

Community Fibre put three of their "child" devices around the house which is a very very wide house as well as 3 stories on installation day to boost signal but we still needed the upstairs access point and the ethernet cables for complete certainty of video calls.

In fact I left BT entirely as it cannot get FTTP here and we group of residents paid Community Fibre to get it out here. When the engineer left originally he showed me how fast the internet was in every room (which it was with all doors open and not testing for video calls, just the download speed). Since then I learned a lot about solid doors, stone large houses on several floors and what I have now added in terms of extra ethernet cables etc seems to have solved the issues although there was one point when my son having trouble watching K pop videos in bed said all I had done at home was break the internet as the 5GB download (very fast) FTTP with CF in my office seemed to give him worse wifi in his bed room that slower copper wire or BT which was probably a bit more stable. (He is back on side now that I fixed it all)
