FTTP available in my cul-de-sac but not my building.

When doing fibre availability checks all of the neighbouring houses have it ready to go however, my apartment block in the same cul-de-sac does not.

Does anyone know how I find out why this is or when they are going to do something?

I've been on the keep me updated list for years and had nothing.

If I need to contact someone to get this pushed for permission from the buildings lease holder thats fine, I just need to know how to progress if I can.

MDU’s are usually ( depending on the size and how they are currently served with copper infrastructure ) , a completely different roll out program to the regular SDU (single dwelling units) that may neighbour it….

There can obviously be huge differences between a tower block with a huge number of flats/apartments inside and (for example) a normal house converted into a couple of ‘flats’.

Generally, if the apartment complex has units within that all use a common entrance/exit to the ‘outside’ and all their individual front doors face onto a corridor within the MDU , rather than face onto a public road/footpath then the chances are that the regular SDU FTTP rollout will not cover that MDU and a specialist MDU group will need to liaise with the building management/freeholder/ land owner etc with regard to getting permission etc to work in the areas of the building that individual flat owners (or renters) have no authority over …..basically it’s normal that a MDU surrounded by SDU can’t order FTTP when the SDU can .

Thanks for the insight, I've asked my Leaseholder the question anyway as its not a large apartment block, there's only 6 in the building!

Ultimately it’s not really anything to do with BT but Openreach , have a look at this , there are several ways OR deal with MDU’s , some are proactive, OR contact the building owners , some reactive where a resident or the building owner contacts OR .
