My ONT will be located downstairs in the hall. My router is upstairs at the back and supports a number of wired devices there and so can not b moved.. So each device will require its own BBU.

As a registered vulnerable customer BT have sent me a BBU Plus free-of-charge for use with one of the devices. However they don't seem to be able to send a 2nd without charging me.

I thought that in such cases vulnerable customers were supposed to get both BBUs free? BT keep saying that the upgrade to FTTP will not cost us anything....

THE free BBU was to enable your router and ONT to continue to work so that with digital voice you would still have phone access for emergency calls during a power outage. It was not intended to run all your appliances during a power outage.

I think @Daedalus2000 meant that, as his ONT and router are in separate locations, he needs two BBUs and BT are only offerring the one, albeit with a split connector for the two devices.

Apart from anything else, such as the sheer incovenience of having to disconnect and move a router about, the BBU Plus is listed now as 'discontinued' on the BT website and therefore can not be ordered by a customer. IMHO another example of the problems of taking a 'one size fits all' approach to customers installations
