Fibre 500 and Devolo Magic 2 LAN adaptor - connection speed tops out at 120Mbps?

I've recently had fibre 500 installed and on wi-fi I can regularly get well over 400Mbps, even some distance from the router. However, when using my Devolo HomePlug units I can't seem to get over 120Mbps, even though the Devolo Home Network app shows a connection speed of 700Mbps up and 700Mbps down between the unit in my office and the one downstairs connected to the router.

At the router end I have Magic 2 WiFi next unit with the wi-fi disabled and plugged into a double wall socket with the mains passthrough unused and the other socket hosting a trailing socket for the router, fibre box and a lamp. At the office end I have the Magic 2 LAN 1-1 unit plugged into its own socket with the mains passthrough unused and on the other side of the room from the socket hosting the trailing socket for the computer and accessories.

I've tried changing the ethernet cables in both cases just in case, but this makes no difference. Any suggestions?

From the sounds of it everything is ok with the fibre connection and from your post you have tried everything that we would be able to recommend already. However we do have a lot of knowledgeable users who hopefully may be able to share some additional steps to try.
