Collapsed duct or blocked duct is splitting hairs , and is not really the issue , as stated Openreach arranges this type of work often without any fuss, it’s a mature and common process, so when there is problem , it isn’t Openreach just can’t be bothered , or the people who turn up don’t want to do their job , it’s things like the requester of the work doesn’t have the authority to give permission (because they rent for example rather than own , but even that isn’t really an issue , if the renter signs it’s regarded as consent and they have got the owners permission ) or they won’t sign the ‘paperwork’ or place onerous conditions (like you need to resurface the entire driveway not just reinstate the excavation site ) …so are you saying you own the area to be excavated , you have signed the PTD form , there are no third parties involved (which would be odd as you mention third parties in the OP ) ,and as far as you can tell Openreach simply haven’t arranged the work to clear the duct to allow a new cable to be installed ?

FTTP install cancelled 3 times (2 months no service)

I’ve been waiting over 2 months for full fibre installation with BT. Openreach have attended 3 times but cancelled each time due to a permission issue with council or landowner.

I have got Openreach escalation manager to confirm that no permission is needed because the duct is blocked within my property, it’s literally 1m away from my house wall and I called again when no engineer came and I was told I was being misadvised. BT/Openreach still haven’t made no progress.

I am currently without internet for over 2 months and keep being sent in circles. Using EE mini hub 4g WiFi at home and it’s awful

Can someone please escalate this properly and confirm what is still blocking the installation and when it will be completed?

The process for excavating on someone’s own property like their front garden to unblock/repair a blocked duct is pretty commonplace, the house owner would need to electronically sign a PTD (permission to dig ) so this work can proceed , it probably happens many times each day , the fact it hasn’t happened with you suggests this isn’t straight forward…with you mentioning the council or landowner perhaps you don’t have the authority to give permission for this work….can you give more details , I suspect there is more to this than meets the eye.

The duct is full of debris at my end like 1m away from house wall and it’s not collapsed. that’s why the full fibre wire not coming through all the way.

There are no BT employees here except Moderators who don’t have access to anyone’s account and there is no option to contact Openreach directly as they are not customer facing. You just have to keep trying with BT on the phone.
